Wanda M. Mason Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Wanda M. Mason, life long Benson resident, entered into rest on July 21, 2005 at St. Maryãs Hospital in Amsterdam. She was born on February 1, 1914 in Benson and was the daughter of the late De Forest and Alta Canfield Manzer. She attended Benson schools and graduated from Northville Central School in 1936. Wanda celebrated almost 50 years of marriage with Burr L. Mason whom she married on November 26, 1936. He predeceased her on July 22, 1986. She was employed by area glove shops, served as Benson Town Justice and also councilwoman retiring in 1984. She was a member of the Northville Baptist Church and the New York State Bluebird Society. One of Wandaãs passions was writing and reciting poetry. On numerous occasions she was invited to share her talent with others and especially her church family. She is survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins and many others who called her ¶dear friend÷ and ¶Aunt Wanda÷. She is also survived by her faithful canine companion, Benji.Friends and family may call from 11 a.m. to 1 pm. on Monday July 25, 2005 at the Northville Baptist Church, 111 N. First Street, Northville where a funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. with Pastor George Hopper officiating. Burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Northville. Memorial contributions may be made to the Northville Baptist Church or Mountain Valley Hospice, 108 Steele Ave, Gloversville 12078. Arrangements are by the Northville Funeral Home.
