Trina Jo (Johnson) Sweet October 23, 1963 – December 3, 2020 It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of Trina Sweet on Thursday, December 3 at her home in the Extended Care Facility of Nathan Littauer Hospital, where she had lived for almost four years. Trina was born and raised in Mayfield, graduated from Mayfield High School in 1981. She attended SUNY Plattsburg and the College of St. Rose receiving degrees in the Speech and Hearing area along with teaching degrees. Trina was employed at the Mayfield Central School District as a Speech and Hearing Specialist for nineteen years, retiring in 2008 due to disability. Trina is survived by husband, Ted Sweet, mother, Marilyn Johnson, brother Paul Johnson (Kathy), niece Alexandra, nephews, Jared and Jacob Johnson. She is also survived by many special cousins and aunts, two uncles, Don (Dawn) Wood and Dean (Barbara) Wood and brother in law Jeff Sweet. She was predeceased by her father Vernon Johnson, maternal grandparents, Melvin and Sadie Wood, paternal grandparents, Everett and Elsie Johnson and uncle Mel Wood, Jr. Trina faced her disability with courage and bravery, always looking at the “Good” and enjoying her life traveling with Ted to Classic Car Shows and meetings all over the country. She had a love of animals, especially cats and often would engage in “cat talk” with her mom and grandma Sadie. She loved her students and they loved her. They were little and so was she. Some of her caregivers were her students and remembered her for her kindness and understanding, way too many to mention. A life well lived and enjoyed. Trina will be interred with her dad at the King Northampton Cemetery. Donations in her memory can be sent to the King Northampton Cemetery for upkeep and maintenance of the cemetery c/o : Treasurer, King Northampton Cemetery, 270 County Hwy 102 Gloversville NY 12078.
