Thomas G. Maile III

July 10, 2015

Thomas G. Maile III, 87, entered eternal joy July 10, at his Wells lakeside home, with his wife of 66 years Elsie at his side. A native and long-time resident of Pawling, NY Tom served in the Navy during WWII, obtained degrees from SUNY New Paltz and Empire State College and had a long career as a School Superintendent with the NYS Department of Corrections. He was mightily involved in his community before and after retirement. A master craftsman and exceptional administrator Tom lent his talents to The Wells Historical Society and Methodist Church, and above all gifted his family with endless generosity, kindness and love. Always ready for fun, he had many interests and traveled extensively throughout the US and beyond but was always delighted to return to the Adirondacks where his favorite companions were Elsie, a good book and a faithful Welsh Terrier. He leaves the love of his life the former Elsie Frumerie, son Thomas Maile IV and wife Colleen of Eagle, Idaho; daughter Linda Chase and husband Stan of Millerton, New York; grandchildren and spouses, Lexie and Wes Poole, Erin and Rob Pfister, Joel and Lisa Chase, Becky and Alex Macdonald, Tucker and Daniela Maile, Bethany and Ryan NItz-Maile and eleven great-grandchildren. Memorial service: Saturday July 18, 1 pm, Wells United Methodist Church, Wells, NY. Arrangements directed by the Northville Funeral Home. Post condolences online at www.northvillefuneralservice.com.
