Susan A. Whitman

Susan A. Whitman, 72 of Houseman St., Mayfield died April 7, 2005 at home following a long illness. She was born in Wells, NY on February 8, 1933. The daughter of the late Oliver and Evalene Countryman Whitman. She was a graduate of Northville Central School class of 1951 and was married to George Whitman on August 12, 1951. She was employed as a bookkeeper for Whitman Taxidermy in Gloversville. Susan was a lifetime area resident and a member of the Wells Methodist Church, The Senior Citizens Club in Wells, the Wells Garden Club, the Wells Historical Society and a volunteer for the Northville Public Library.Survivors include her husband George Whitman of Mayfield, her daughter; Kimberly and her husband Steven Mintzer of Saratoga. Her brother; Dan Whitman of Gloversville. Two sisters; Hazel Schuyler and Marguerite Ellsworth both of Gloversville. Three grandchildren; Lucas, Heidi and Alex and one great grandchild Trinity. Several nieces and nephews also survive her.A memorial service will be held on Sunday May 15, 2005 at 11 a.m. at the Wells United Methodist Church. Burial will be in King Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice, 73 N.
