Robert P. (Bob) Hallenbeck

October 19, 1956 - May 7, 2015

Robert P. Hallenbeck (Bob), 58, of Northville, NY passed away peacefully, May 7, 2015 at home with his loving wife and family by his side. Bob was born October 19, 1956 in Amsterdam NY. The loving son of Doris Jasper Hallenbeck, of Amsterdam, and Gordon Hallenbeck (who predeceased him in 2007). Bob graduated from Wilbur H. Lynch High School in 1974 and shortly after began his service in the US Army, where he proudly served his country for 10 years as a decorated Staff Sergeant. Serving a large portion of this time in Pirmasens, Germany. He returned to the US and resided in Arizona for many years where he was a curator for the Phippen Museum in Prescott. Bob returned to Amsterdam where he became the graphic designer for Longview Fibre and shortly after that the contract service manager for Nefab until leaving due to health issues. He was a member of the American Legion Post 337 Broadalbin, NY where he had many friends. Bob had many hobbies, including woodworking in his shop, spending countless hours organizing it. He was a very talented artist, in so many ways. He loved listening to music and playing the drums, to oil painting and riding his motorcycle. He was a man of many words and always had a witty come back for everything. He brought a smile to everyone who knew him and he will be greatly missedby so many. Along with his mother Bob is survived by his wife Marjorie Hallenbeck, whom he married on August 2, 2008. His son Philip Hallenbeck SSgt, USAF Little Rock AFB, Arkansas, and 2 step sons Theordore Marcais of Northville and Jared Marcais of Gloversville. Three sisters, Susan (Charles) Rossi of Amsterdam, Lynn (Christopher) Baker of Green Field Ctr. and Carol Hallenbeck of Amsterdam. One nephew, Nicholas (Gwen) Rossi, one niece Kacie Levoy, one great nephew Santino Rossi all of Amsterdam. One special Aunt, Arlene Jasper, along with many cousins and friends. Lets not forget his precious feline fur babies who he loved dearly...Jazz, Peaches, Gizzy and Ozzy. It was only a week ago he had to say goodbye to his dog and long time buddy Bailey. The family will receive friends on Monday May 11, 2015 from 4 to 6 pm at the Northville Funeral Service, Bridge St. Northville where a service will be held at 6 p.m. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name to the American Legion Post 337 Broadalbin, NY. Condolences may be made to the family online at www.northvillefuneralservice.com. Arrangements are under the direction and care of the Northville Funeral Home and Bill Mackey – Funeral Director.
