Paul Bradt
February 12, 1921 - February 27, 2005
Paul Bradt, born February 12, 1921 on the ¶Windfall÷ in Wells, NY, the son of Charles and Martha Stuart Bradt passed away on Sunday, February 27, 2005.He graduated from Wells Central School in 1939. After graduation he was employed in the rug mills in Amsterdam. He then worked in the glove shops in Gloversville and Northville. He served in the Artillery unit of the US Army as Staff Sergeant from 1943 to 1946 during World War II. He married the former Jean VanVranken on August 14, 1943. In 1952 he started his own business, Paul Bradt Contractors, adding the stone crusher on Route 30 in the late 1950ãs. He operated as Paul Bradt Crushed Stone Products until October 1997 when it was sold to Delaney Development.He is survived by his wife Jean; his daughter Paula Frasier and her husband John; His grandchildren: Amanda Frasier and companion Neal Skotarczak; Preston Frasier and wife Alyson; Holly Bradt and fiancT John Trzaskos; Peter Bradt, Jr. and companion Katie Hartung; and his great-granddaughter Avery Bradt. He is also survived by his brothers Sanford Bradt of Wells and Claude Bradt of Mayfield and his sister June Leadley of Lake Pleasant.He was pre-deceased by his son Peter in 1980, and his sisters Mildred Harrington Stuart, Myra Goldsmith, Mary Talbot, and brothers Carl Bradt and Howard Bradt.Paul was best known for his love of hunting and fishing. He traveled extensively accumulating trophies for his Wildlife Museum at the Bradt Building on Main Street in Northville. He was a member of the Ohmer Mountain and Tennantville hunting clubs. He was a dedicated family man and could often be found delivering food gifts to friends and neighbors. He will be missed by all.Friends may call on Wednesday March 2, 2005 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Northville Funeral Home, 401 Bridge St. Northville. The funeral service and burial will be held at the convenience of the family. Family and friends are invited to a memorial gathering at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday March 3, 2005 at Lanziãs on the Lake Restaurant, on Rt. 30, Mayfield.
