Neil Lamond Jr., 71 of Lake Pleasant, NY passed away unexpectedly at his home on April 19, 2005. He was born in South Norwalk, CT on December 9, 1933. The son of the late Neil Lamond Sr. and Helene Donovan Lamond. Neil grew up in Bethel, Ct. and attended the one room Plumtrees School, Center School and graduated from Bethel High School class of 1950.Neil took pride in being a skilled tractor trailer driver as well as being an accomplished operator of construction equipment. He also operated a business in Randall, NY, and after moving to Lake Pleasant worked for the Hamilton County Highway Department. Since his retirement, he has been driving school bus for the Piseco Common School District. He served in the Army from 1953 to 1955, was a member of the American Legion, a Boy Scout Leader, a past member of the Rural Grove Fire Department and since 1996 has been a dedicated driver for the Piseco Ambulance Corps.Survivors include his wife of 44 years Elizabeth Melody Lamond whom he married on October 8, 1960. Two sons; Michael Lamond of Syracuse and Paul Lamond of Albany and two brothers; Larry Lamond of Milo, Maine and Alan and his wife Alison Lamond of Turner, Maine.Friends may call on Saturday April 23, 2005 from 11 to 1 p.m. at the Northville Funeral Home where a funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. with Rev. R.W. Williams officiating.
