Mildred Irene Aird

Mildred Irene Aird, 83, of Old Page Hill Road, Speculator, died Saturday, January 1, 2005 at home. She was born in Speculator, NY on June 6, 1921. The daughter of the late Emory and Irene Aird. She was a graduate of Wells Central School, class of 1938. Mildred was a lifetime area resident and lived in Lake Pleasant. She was adopted by Lewis and Cora Nichols upon the death of her mother, Irene and was raised with their daughter, Agnes. Mildred ran the Speculator House with Agnes Page for many years and also worked at the Speculator Post Office until her retirement. Survivors include her sister, Stella Mackowski of Westland, Wisconsin. Several nieces and nephews also survive her. She was predeceased by her brother, Dan Aird. Friends may call Tuesday, January 4, 2005 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Northville Funeral Home, where the funeral service will be held at 8 p.m. with Rev. R.W. Williams officiating. Burial will be in Airdville Cemetery in the spring. Memorial contributions may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice or the American Diabetes Association.
