Luther George Stockwell, 84 of Tennentville Road, Edinburg died Sunday May 15, 2005 at the St. Johnsville Nursing Home following a long illness. He was born in Dryden, NY on November 29, 1920. The son of Carmy and Minnie Frasier Stockwell. He was a graduate of Northville Central School, a World War II Army Veteran and was employed by Taylor Made in Gloversville retiring in 1986. He was a lifetime resident of the area and an avid sports fan. Survivors include his wife Helen Olmstead Stockwell whom he married December 23, 1944. Two sons; Larry and Douglas Stockwell of Edinburg. A sister; Doris Matzinger of Ft. Pierce, FL. He was predeceased by his brother; Joseph J. Stockwell and sister Jennie Roper. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Friends may call Thursday May 19, 2005 from 11 a.m. to 12 Noon at the Northville Funeral Home were a funeral service will be held at 12 Noon. Burial will be in Clarkville Cemetery, Edinburg. Memorial contributions may be made to the Edinburg Ambulance Squad, the Edinburg Fire Department or the Alzheimerãs Foundation.
