Kevin M. Chaffee
March 27, 1970 - March 30, 2019
Kevin Michael Chaffee, born in Augusta, Georgia on March 27, 1970, lost his battle with cancer that he fought valiantly for a year and a half on March 30, 2019. He is the son of Patricia and Archie VanNostrand of Mayfield and Brandt Chaffee of Gloversville. He was a graduate of Mayfield High School in 1988, where he was an avid soccer player and was very active in drama. He had been Quality Control Supervisor for various production plants which included, Buddy L, Kintz Plastics, Taylor Made, Pioneer Windows, and Ozark Electronics. He also worked at turning wrenches at B&B Equipment. He then finished out his career as his own boss and owner of the Mayfield Grill. He had been affiliated with the bar for 26 years. First as a bar tender for various owners and then as the owner/operator, that within that twelve years, brought the Mayfield Grill back to its former glory. “Times May Change, Traditions Continue”. Kevin alongside his wife Tracy, put his heart and soul into making his business top notch. Not only did he do that, he also had great friends, family, and employees that helped make it so! Kevin became a happily married man to Tracy Winchell-Chaffee on May 14, 2011. They both shared the love of the same interests and were bound by a unique kind of love. He was the Dallas Cowboys biggest fan, as well as, the NY Yankees. He loved going camping and watching Dirt Track Racing. He was involved with the Pool, Dart, Horseshoe, and Pitch Leagues that he formed while owning the Grill. He is survived by his wife Tracy Chaffee. His parents Patricia and Archie VanNostrand of Mayfield and Brandt Chaffee of Gloversville, his sister Lisa and Henry Hart and Niece, Alis Hart of Gloversville. His step brother Kevin VanNostrand (Aubrey) of Mayfield and Keith VanNostrand (Linda) of North Carolina. Kevin’s step children, Jeremie Angus(Krista) of Oppenheim and Ashley Angus(Christine) of Johnstown. Three step grandchildren; Kaitlyn Angus of Oppenheim and Kaileigh and Ethan Angus of Johnstown. He is also survived by his Mother in law, Evelyn Winchell of Mayfield and Brother in law, Michael Winchell of Perth. Many Aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews also survive him. The Family would like to extend their sincerest thank you to all of our friends, family and the doctors and nurses at the Rao Oncology Center in Amsterdam, NY. Family and friends are invited to Visitation on Thursday April 4, 2019 at the Northville Funeral Home from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. A private funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family.
