Jason E. Knapp, 82 of Rt. 8, Lake Pleasant died Monday February 7, 2005 at the Nathan Littauer Hospital after a long illness. He was born in Lake Pleasant, NY on May 23, 1922. The son of the late Spencer and Vie Pelcher Knapp. He was a graduate of Wells High School. He served his country in the Army during World War II in the Pacific Theatre. He worked for the Town of Lake Pleasant until his retirement in 1983.Mr. Knapp was a lifetime area resident and a member of the VFW in Lake Pleasant. Survivors include his wife Beatrice Duheme whom he married August 31, 1946. Two sons; Martin and his wife Lyn Knapp of Loudonville and Jay and his wife Beth of Lake Pleasant. One daughter; Donna and her husband Jeff Whinnery of Lake Pleasant. One brother; Nelson Knapp of Arizona. Two sisters; Martha Mackey of South Carolina and Elsie Nadaeu of Schenectady. Eight grandchildren, five great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive him. He was predeceased by his son; Bruce Knapp. A memorial service will be held on Thursday February 10, 2005 at the North Country Bible Fellowship (the former Lake Pleasant school) at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Fish Mountain Cemetery at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice, 73 N. Main St. Gloversville or Speculator Ambulance Corps., Rt. 30, Speculator, NY. Arrangements are by the Northville Funeral Home.
