Franklin N. Edwards
July 1, 1949 - June 11, 2016
Franklin N. Edwards, 66, a lifetime resident of Edinburg, passed away suddenly at his home following a long illness. He was born in Edinburg, NY on July 1, 1949, the son of the late Clarence and Edith Mosher Edwards. He was educated in Northville and Edinburg Schools. Frank was employed with the Town of Edinburg Highway Department. He was also employed through out the years as a logger and truck driver. Before he retired he worked for Bell & Flynn, Corp. for 11 years. Frank was an active life member of the Edinburg Vol. Fire Co. He was a fire warden for DEC for many years. Frank was an avid axmen at the Woodsman show and enjoyed the thrill of grass racing snow machines where he won many trophies. Survivors include his wife Cindy Smith, whom he married on August 25, 1990;a daughter, Joy (Peter) Allen; four sons, Donald(Nikki) Edwards, Arthur Edwards, Ryan(Shannon Winchell) Edwards and Scott (Kaylin Pettit) Edwards all of Northville. He is also survived by four brothers, Joel Edwards, Wimp (Cindy Lucky) Edwards, George Edwards of Edinburg and Billy (Robin Horton) Edwards of Northville; three sisters, Valerie(Earl) Seelow of Corinth, Kathy (Al DeSorbo) Dimick od Ocala, FL and Gail (Bim) Vandenburg of Edinburg. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, his two dogs and a goat. Burial will take place in Edinburg Cemetery on Sunday, June 19, 2016 at 12PM. Family and friends are invited to join after at Joy's Home, 418 Co Hwy 113 Northville NY 12134. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Northville Funeral Service, Inc. 401 Bridge Street, Northville NY 12134, to help offset funeral expenses.
