Evelyn W. Rose

Evelyn W. Rose, 95 of Rose Lane Broadalbin died Wednesday January 8, 2003 at the Nathan Littauer Nursing Home following a short illness. She was born October 17, 1907 in Speculator, NY. The daughter of Albert and Anna Slack Wight. Mrs. Rose attended school in Northville and Gloversville. She was employed as a sewing machine operator for many years with the former Broadalbin Knitting Co. and had been employed with Robison and Smith in Gloversville. She also worked as a sewing machine operator for St. Thomas in Gloversville retiring from there many years ago. She was a former member of the Broadalbin Baptist Church.Mrs. Rose married Arthur E. Rose on October 12,1927 in Broadalbin and has resided there since her marriage. Mr. Rose died August 26, 1994.Survivors include her son James A. Rose of Broadalbin. Three grandchildren and their spouses, Kent and Ann Rose of North Carolina, Melody and Tim Burton of Broadalbin and Cheryl and Ken Crispin of Broadalbin. Two great grandchildren also survive her Jason Pelosi and Travis Burton both of Broadalbin.Friends may call Friday January 10, 2003 from 1 to 2 p.m. at the Northville Funeral Home where a funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. with the Rev.
