Eugene T. Hilboldt

April 19, 1946 - February 15, 2018

Mr. Eugene T. Hilboldt, 71, of Edinburg, NY, passed away at his home on February 15, 2018. Born in Corning, NY, he was the son of the late Kenneth and Elizabeth Cogan Hilboldt. A United States Air Force veteran, Gene served our country during the Vietnam War. He was later employed by the Federal Government and worked as a Computer Analyst at the Social Security Administration in Maryland for many years, retiring in 2002. Gene appreciated the peace and tranquility of living on the Great Sacandaga Lake. An avid animal lover, he liked to feed the squirrels and birds all year round, though basset hounds held a special place in his heart. Gene also enjoyed both music and golf. Gene is survived by his siblings, Mary Ellen Symons of Rotterdam, NY, Madlyn Travis of Corning, NY, and Roger (Ellie) Hilboldt of Melbourne, FL; nieces and nephews David (Tammy) Symons, Kevin (Beth) Symons, Colleen (Dean) Carnevale, Lynnette (Paul) Blanco, Scott Hilboldt, Cindy Hilboldt, and Marcia Hilboldt; and several great nieces and nephews. The family wishes to express a special thanks to Carol Eno Buell for her friendship, kindness, and concern for Gene through the last few years. Services for Eugene will be private and at the convenience of his family.
