Rev. Dr. Frank E. Clayton, 78 of Co. Hwy. 143 Northville died Tuesday May 17, 2005 at the St. Johnsville Nursing Home following a long illness. He was born in Clymer, PA on January 30, 1927. The son of the late William B. Sr. and Mary Louise Plusquellic Clayton. He served as a minister for the American Baptist Churches of Maine retiring in 1990. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Amsterdam; he attended the Northville Baptist Church. He was a member of the Boy Scouts of America where he was an Eagle Scout and also received the Silver Beaver and the Good Shepard award. Survivors include his wife Dolores ¶Jean÷ Clayton whom he married on August 25, 1951. His son; Philip A. Clayton of Syracuse, NY. His daughter; Lori Abbott of Wells, NY. Three brothers; William B. Clayton Jr. of Valley Falls, NY, John Clayton of Olathe, KS and Robert Clayton of Florida. Three sisters; Martha and Mary Louise Clayton and Ethel Dolan all of Florida. He was predeceased by Henry Clayton, Charles Clayton, Jane Welsh and Marie Frampton. Four grandchildren, one great grandchild and several nieces and nephews also survive him.The calling hours and funeral will be held at the convenience of the family at the Northville Funeral Home with burial in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Northville.
