Doris M. Fordyce

March 4, 1928 - June 12, 2022

Doris M. Fordyce, 94, of Northville, NY died Sunday, June 12, 2022 at home. She was born on March 4, 1928 and was predeceased by her parents, James Balestrino and Gertrude Knight, her husband, James H. Fordyce and son, James A. Fordyce. Mrs. Fordyce was a 1946 graduate of Passaic High School in NJ and earned a B.A. in Home Economics from Montclair State College in 1968, a 1977 Certificate in Early Childhood Education from William Paterson College, NJ and in 1980 an Elementary Education Certification from State University College in Oneonta, NY. Her professional resume included teaching Home Economics at Lakeland Regional High School for 10 years, operating Northville Express Preschool in Northville, NY for 6 years and substitute teaching in Edinburgh and Galway before retiring in 1990. She is survived by three sons, Gordon Fordyce (Toni) of Fort Lee, NJ, Scott Fordyce of Northville, NY and Barry Fordyce of Edinburgh, NY and was the loving grandmother of 7 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Mrs. Fordyce was a parishioner of St. Francis of Assisi Roman Catholic Church in Northville, NY. The family of Doris Fordyce would like to thank Annette Fordyce for her many years of professional dedication and loving care and appreciate, Theresa Jordan, and Alanis Rogers for their kind caregiving. Friends and family are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Francis of Assisi Church In Northville on Friday, June 17, 2022 at 10am and interment at Edinburg Cemetery in Northville. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
