Dona J. Robinson

November 9, 1933 - February 18, 2021

Dona Jean Robinson (nee Marvin), 87, loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother of Edinburg, New York, passed away peacefully at Metro West Hospital in Framingham, Massachusetts, on February 18, 2021. She was surrounded in spirit (and connected virtually) by her devoted and loving family and the presence of her son, David and his fiancé, Denise Frias. Dona was born in Butler, NJ, On November 9, 1933, to Arthur and Adelaide (Peggy) Marvin (nee Luke). She graduated from Pompton Lakes High School in 1951. She remained in close contact with her best friend Jerry Decker throughout her life. In 1964, she and her family moved to Northville, NY, where she spent several years operating the Red Barn Airport with her first husband, John P. Breazzano, Sr. She was later employed by the Fulton County National Bank and Trust Company retiring as an Asst. Manager in 1988. She made several very special friends there (Muriel Stockwell (deceased), Sally Gagne and Marilyn Greenhill) that remained true lifelong friends. She later married Marshall D. Robinson, in 1969, and relocated to Edinburg, NY. She was very involved in preserving the history of the town. Dona is survived by her sons, John P. Breazzano, Jr. (Donna) of Manlius, NY, and David J. Breazzano (Denise) of Weston, MA, and daughters: DonaLee Breazzano of La Plata, MD, Debra J. Breazzano, (Eric) of Black Forest, CO, and Darcie J. Breazzano of Charlotte, NC; her step-son Bernard M. Robinson (Marjorie) of Washington, DC, and step-daughter , Patricia O’Brien of Clifton Park, NY, two sisters: Joyce M. Abbott of Lawrenceville, NJ, and Dorothy L. Glackin of Fawn Grove, PA. She is also blessed with 7 grandchildren: Adam (Amanda), Steven (Sarah), Mark (Julia), Jeremy (Jacqueline), Michael, Matthew (Sloane), and Luke, as well as 2 step grandchildren: Jennifer (Kevin) and Mary; and 6 great grandchildren: RJ, Lilly, Justin, Ethan, Ava and Elliot. Dona was predeceased by her beloved husband, Marshall D. Robinson in 1998, her sister, Joan C. Miller in 2008, and her step-son, David Robinson in 1989. Dona’s focus was always on her immediate and extended family and friends. Her sisters and brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews enjoyed coming to visit and she always made their time special. Dona was famous for her many seasonally decorated sugar cookies! She loved her home and town and enjoyed sharing the history of the Underground Railroad stop discovered in her Catch All antique store. Special thanks to many ladies in Edinburg who provided care for Dona during her progressive illness and the Four Corners Diner for providing her favorite meals and desserts! A special memorial service will be held May 8th, at 2:00 pm with the burial at the Robinson Cemetery on Airport Road, Edinburg, NY. In lieu of flowers, donations in Dona’s name can be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 (www.stjude.org) or the Alzheimer’s Association, P.O Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090-6011 (www.alz.org).
