Denise M. Jaros
December 20, 1962 - February 17, 2015
Denise Marie Jaros born on December 20, 1962 in Gloversville passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family at the Mountain Valley Hospice on Tuesday February 17, 2015. She is survived by her parents Philip W. and Bonnie L. Jaros of Gloversville. She was predeceased by her mother Jean Woodcock Jaros in 1985. In addition to her parents, she is survived by sons J Anthony DiMezza of Portland, OR, Nicholas J. DiMezza (Kristyle) of Fultonville and Jon-Michael A. DiMezza (Brittanie) of Gloversville. Beloved grandson Nicholas James DiMezza, son of Nicholas and Kristyle. Sisters Deborah L. McGillis (Stephen) of Gloversville and Stacie L. DiMezza (Michael) of Glens Falls. Grandmother Grace Woodcock of Gloversville. Niece Leanne Keller-Hansen (Kristopher) of Gloversville and nephew Trevor DiMezza of Glens Falls. Four great nieces and nephews Jacob, Kamryn, Memphis and Kristopher as well as aunts and cousins. Companion of the last five years, Sean Belden and his children, Zoe and Talon. Good friends Rita Guarnieri, Terry Button and Jean Garhart as well as many co-workers that Denise shared a close relationship with at Lexington Center. Lastly, her little dog Nutmeg, who was the light of her life and the heartbeat at her feet. Denise had the privilege of being at stay at home mom for many years, allowing her to raise three fine sons. In 1990 she became employed at Lexington Center. She worked as a residential staff the first fifteen years, and the last ten years in a day program called Home and Career College, teaching several fine young women day to day living skills. Denise was very proud of her work with these young women. Denise loved to be active and was an avid walker, making many friends on her almost daily route. Denise had a great love of the outdoors and an appreciation for all living things. She asks in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Arbor Day Foundation or that a planting of a lilac bush or perennial flowers be done in her memory. Denise would like each of you to remember her favorite saying, "it is what it is". It was the way she lived her life. Denise learned to give up control of her disease, and in doing so, gained the freedom to live her life. Denise and her family wish to send a special thank you for the wonderful care and support she received from Dr. Robert Goslin, and all the nurses and staff at NYOH of Amsterdam as well as the nurses and staff of Mountain Valley Hospice. The exceptional care she received was much more than any of us could have imagined, and more appreciated than words can express. There will be no calling hours. A private service and celebration of Denise's life will be held for the immediate family and close friends at the Mayfield Methodist Church at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are by the Gloversville Funeral Service. Condolences may be made to the family online at www.gloversvillefuneralservice.com.
