Cecil H. Dutcher Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Cecil H. Dutcher Jr. (Dutch), 45, died Tuesday, June 28, 2022, at Nathan Littauer Hospital after being stricken at his home in Mayfield. Born in Gloversville on April 29, 1977 to Cecil and Donna (Ostrander) Dutcher, Cecil graduated from Mayfield High School. Cecil was a laborer through his life and was currently working at Colonial Environmental Services where he was helping to build the company. He spent his free time outside—on the water, in the woods or around the fire—and his family and friends mattered the most. There was never a dull moment when Cecil was around. Cecil’s life changed when he became a dad and welcomed Natalie Paige to the world on October 31, 2021 with his girlfriend Melissa (Missy) Rockwell. Mixed in with the hunting and fishing stories were now stories about “Nat” and his love for his daughter. In addition to his girlfriend and daughter, Cecil is survived by his sister Selena Dutcher, sister Ruth Dutcher Rogers and her children Nadeira Rogers, Darius Rogers and DaVonte Robinson. He is also survived by his step-father John “Jack” Gootz, several aunts and uncles, many cousins and Austin Adams and Quinn Rockwell with whom he had a special relationship. His friends were his family as well. There are too many to mention and each were important to him. If you were his friend, you knew it and he would be there for anything you needed. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents (George and Lottie Dutcher), his maternal grandparents (Adolph and Ruth Ostrander) and his two (2) loyal and faithful companions Rex and Sadie. A graveside service will be held at 11am on Saturday, July 9, 2022 at Robinson Cemetery, Airport Road, Edinburg. Afterward, family and friends are invited to the Edinburg Town Hall Pavilion, 45 Military Road, from 12noon to 4pm for a Celebration of Life. In lieu of flowers, a fund has been established for Cecil's daughter Natalie. Please make checks payable to Selena Dutcher with memo note: Natalie Dutcher Fund.
