Life Legacy
Dorothy M. Dampier, 73 of Griffin Road, Wells, died Tuesday October 27, 2009 at the Albany Medical Center after a short illness. She was born on December 25, 1935 in Edinburg, NY. She was employed at the Adirondack Furniture Factory in Northville for a number of years and was lastly employed as a Home Health Aid for Hamilton County.
Survivors include her husband; Robert C. Dampier of Wells, Four sons; Jim (Cindy) Colson of Speculator, Mark (Kelly) Colson of Wells, Lee (Joyce) Colson of Wells and Michael Colson of Edinburg. Three daughters; Jeanne (John) Chapman of Gloversville, Shirley Bunzey of Northville and Marjorie Colson of Schenectady. One brother; Robert Mattice of North Carolina and one sister; Alice Snyder of Rensselaer. Grandchildren; Jeffery, Joni, Rachael, Rebekah, Amanda, Jimmy, Mark, Laura, Jennifer, Levi, Amy, Kristen and Jennifer. Six great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She is pre-deceased by her mother, Dorothy Fox of Piseco, her brother, Emerson Mattice of Greenfield Center, her sister, Emma Grant of Western NY, and her mother-in-law, Gene Dampier of Wells.
Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or the Fulton County Animal Shelter or the Wells Ambulance Corps.
