Life Legacy
Gladys E. "Glady" Peters, 79, of Hope, passed away Thursday, July 8, 2010 at Mountain Valley Hospice in Gloversville surrounded by her loving family. She was born on Fox Hill in Edinburg, New York, daughter of the late Herbert and Florence Bills Colson.
She was a homemaker and a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister.
Survivors include her devoted husband of 44 years, Harold Peters of Hope, three daughters, Nancy (John) Stortecky of Benson, Janet Sweet of Johnstown and Donna (Bill) Bacon of Gloversville, one grandson John G. (Joellyn) Stortecky of Northville, one great grandson Wyatt Jack Stortecky of Northville, one brother Gordon (Lettie) Colson of Corinth, three sisters, Helen (Don) Sweet of Northville, Sylvia (Ralph) Culver of Greenfield Center and Alice Satterlee of Johnstown, sister-in-law, Linda Colson of Edinburg, sister-in-law Betty Colson of Corinth, brother-in-law Rudolph Rumpf of Gloversville and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by her first husband Harold G. Sweet. She was also predeceased by siblings Andrew Colson, Elizabeth Hart, Maryetta Farrington, Adelia Finch, Richard Colson, Henry Colson and Priscilla Rumpf.
Friends may call on Monday July 12 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Northville Funeral Home where a funeral service will be held on Tuesday July 13 at 1 p.m. with the Rev. R.W. Williams officiating. Burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery in Northville.
