Eva L. Davenport

July 15, 1914 - May 2, 2010

Eva Davenport, 95, a resident of Northville, passed away on Sunday May 2, 2010 at the Nathan Littauer Nursing Home after suffering a massive stroke.

She was born in the Town of Colchester, NY on July 15, 1914. The daughter of Mae and George Burlingame. She graduated from Northville Central School in 1933. She worked for many years as a Glove worker in several Northville and Gloversville Glove Shops.

During her life time she enjoyed knitting, crocheting, playing cards and watching soap operas.

She married Leon Davenport in 1933. She was predeceased by her husband in 1988, her son Gary Davenport in 2009, two brothers; Howard Burlingame in 1989 and Roy Burlingame in 2007. She was also predeceased by two grandchildren; Wayne and Kelly Davenport.

Survivors include her two sons; Eugene (Shirley) Davenport of Farmington, Arkansas and Larry (Linda) Davenport of Millington, Tennessee. One brother; Waldo (Marguerite) Burlingame of Gloversville, NY. Granddaughter; Lorena Davenport of Millington, Tennessee and three grandsons; Steve Davenport of Paris France, Douglas Davenport of Prairie Grove, Arkansas and David Davenport of West Fork, Arkansas. She is also survived by three great grandchildren all of Arkansas.

There will be no calling hours. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday May 5, 2010 at 1:30 p.m. in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Northville with Rev. Michael Terrell officiating.
