Biography

Richard W. Olson, 92, of Mayfield, passed away on Thursday, March 4, 2010 at Mountain Valley Hospice, after a long illness. He was born on July 20, 1917, son of the late George and Mila Warner Olson of Mayfield.

He worked as transportation supervisor for the Mayfield School District before retiring.

Survivors included: Richard's wife of 67 years, Elaine C. Olson; three sons, Gregory (Marcia) Olson, Chris (Aleen) Olson, and Eric (Judy) Olson; grandchildren Gregory (Lisa) Olson, Geoffrey (Carrie) Olson, Derek Olson, Sarah Suits, Ian (Tiffany) Olson, Erik Olson, Luke Olson and several great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister Muriel Kobuskie and brother George Olson. Richard was pre-deceased by his brother Barton Olson.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Northville Funeral Service and a memorial service at the Mayfield Presbyterian Church will be held at the convenience of the family.
