Life Legacy
Maureen E. Koval, 67 of Juergen Point Road, Mayfield died Wednesday February 24, 2010 at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady. She was born in Binghamton, NY on October 11, 1942. The daughter of the late; Eugene and Marion Bentz Archer. She was a graduate of Frankfort High school in Germany. She owned the Big Bird Creamery, and was the original owner of Mr. Softee’s in Mayfield. She was then the Head Cook for the Meals on Wheels Program.
She was a communicant of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church of Northville where she served as chairwomen on the Fellowship committee. She was also a member of the Rosary Society of the Church.
Survivors include her husband; Richard Koval of Mayfield. Three children; Kelli (Greg) Tomlinson of Mayfield, Marie (Greg) Gallup of Mayfield and Michael (Rebecca) Koval of Gloversville. Two sisters; Janet McDonough of Vestal and Diana Archer of Binghamton. Grandchildren; Greg Tomlinson Jr., Nicole Tomlinson, Tyler Koval, Carlie Gallup, Josh Gallup, Branden Koval and Savannah Koval. She was predeceased by her daughter; Kimberly Koval.
Friends may call on Sunday February 28, 2010 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Northville Funeral Home, 401 Bridge Street, Northville (863-4744).
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday March 1, 2010 at 11 a.m. at the St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church of Northville. Burial will be held in Mayfield Cemetery in the spring.
